Yes! The Actors Gym is for actors of all experience levels. We teach you the basics, for example, how to submit a self-tape audition, how to approach an agent, a range of acting techniques including Meisner, Method and Laban Efforts. We provide feedback on your self-tapes and headshots so you can improve over time no matter what your starting level.
Yes! The primary language of Actors Gym is English and we are based in the UK, but we welcome actors from anywhere in the world. If our class times – which we try to vary – don’t suit you, we record all of our classes and sessions so you can watch them at any time.
The Actors Gym is affiliated with The Reel Scene acting school in London, and the RS Talent Agency. We don’t offer representation directly, but our agents (and many other agents and casting directors) use the gym and see your self-tapes. Some of our actors have been offered representation as a result of their work in the gym. If you work hard, take classes, regularly submit self-tapes and work on your acting technique, chances are your commitment will be noticed.
The Actors Gym (and The Reel Scene) are practical training establishments. That means that we want to get you work as an actor. All of our coaches are working professionals in the industry. Actors, producers, directors, editors – they all bring their wealth of practical knowledge to the gym and make sure you’re taught the techniques the industry is using right now. Some of our coaches are well-known, including Asa Butterfield (Sex Education, Hugo, Enders Game), Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Godzilla vs Kong, Pirates of the Caribbean, Black Sails, Hotel Rwanda), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Royals), David Schaal (The Inbetweeners, The Office), Steve North (Doctor Who, Eastenders), Shobu Kapoor (Citizen Khan, The Dark Tower) and many more.

Acting is like any skill or profession – you need training to be a good actor.
If you’re not able to study acting in person – because of where you live, your circumstances, or situations like the current pandemic, there are still ways you can train online and keep your acting skills sharp.
You need to understand the language and protocols on set, and how to listen to a director. You need to know how to break down a script, and develop a character. You need to understand different acting techniques, such as the Meisner technique, emotional memory, the Stanislavski method. These are skills you can learn online.
You should find a good online school that will give you individual feedback on your work, that offers a variety of training, live video workshops, challenges and resources and a supportive community. Find a school where the teachers are actual working actors, directors, and casting agents. So if you’re stuck at home, not based in London or just want to learn online, The Actors Gym is for you.
